THE LANGUAGE BANC PROVIDES INTERPRETERS FOR MAJOR INDIGENOUS EVENT

Pro Bono Provision of Services Highlights our Community Commitment

Minneapolis, MN, February 14, 2020– The Language Banc (TLB) is proud to announce its support of MMIR Minneapolis in conjunction with the Minnesota Indian Women’s Sexual Assault Coalition through the provision of pro bono interpreter services for this major community event.
“TLB is committed to the communities it serves and is always looking for ways to give back,” said TLB CEO Siyad Abdullahi. “We are pleased to have been afforded the opportunity to provide our highest-quality language services to this important event honoring missing indigenous people so that all participants may be fully engaged no matter what language they speak.”
The event, which takes place today at the Minneapolis American Indian Center, followed by a city walk, is to be attended by community and state leaders and activists, including Governor Tim Walz, Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. The event honors missing and murdered indigenous people. The Language Banc is providing interpreters for participants at no cost.
